The days of showing slideshows and photo albums of your trips with friends and family to share the photos of your travels are gone. Thanks to some great apps and mobile Wi-Fi, we can now stay in touch with family and friends while we travel and share experiences with them as they happen.
Snapchat – This app allows you to take photos and short video clips of your adventures and send them to your contacts within the app. When sending photos and videos, they can be viewed one time and then they are deleted. Snapchat also allows you to post photos and videos to your Story, which can be viewed by any of your friends in the app for 24 hours. It is a great app for sharing what you are up to. Many places have custom overlays with graphics and names of cities or landmarks.
Facebook Live – Facebook live allows users to stream live video to friends. You can create a description of the video that you will be streaming that will show up in your friends’ news feeds to let people know what you are streaming. You can see who is viewing your live video and even have conversations with people by responding directly in the video or by typing responses.
Instagram – Instagram has long been a popular app for posting photos of people’s travel adventures. They increased their appeal years ago with the addition of the ability to upload videos and recently they added a story feature similar to Snapchat’s story setup that allows users to share photos or videos with followers for a 24-hour period.
If you’re looking for the ability to ensure that you can stay in touch with your friends and family while traveling, you should consider a mobile Wi-Fi device to maintain a fast, reliable Wi-Fi connection wherever you go.
